Information Update (regarding Hybrid Re-entry for Elementary and Athletics Update for Middle and High School Fall Sports)

Two important announcements:
1. After great consideration for the safety of students and staff and community, Cimarron Municipals Schools will move into HYBRID learning for Eagle Nest and Cimarron Elementary Schools for PreK through 5th grade starting October 13th. Hybrid learning allows for 50% of the classroom roster to be allowed onsite in the classroom at a time. This may be accomplished through two days onsite and two days online, with opposite days for different cohorts of students. In cases where our numbers allow for a 5:1 ratio, that will continue to be followed, if that allows for more students than the 50%. Teachers should or already have been in contact with parents to inform them of student's scheduled days for onsite learning. Onsite participation is voluntary and family choice for remote learning will continue to be honored. Please contact Elizabeth DeCristino (575-376-4501) by Friday, October 9, to schedule a bus pick up time, if you will need bus services.
2. 10-8-2020: As per today's announcement by the Governor, All fall sport competitions have been postponed until Spring semester (2021). The NMAA will release a new sports calendar next week. Once the NMAA makes their changes Cimarron, MVHS, and EN will update and release new practice schedules and modify and update any policies, procedures, etc. in relation to fall sports. Those updates and practice schedules will be posted to the District website and to our Facebook info boards. Again, these revisions and adjustments will be made NEXT WEEK, so we will not have specific information until that time. If there are changes to this week's practice schedule, coaches will inform athletes directly. Please contact Alberta Martinez with questions or concerns.
3. 10-12-2020: All sports practices will be on hold this week as per the Athletic Director. The school will take a look at the new NMAA calendar and then develop a master schedule for the gym this quarter. Please use this time to start a new quarter and get ahead in your academics.
