If you have a child that uses the following social media platforms (or any social platform), you might want to read this:
• Roblox
• Discord
• Messenger
🚨 The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has alerted local law enforcement to the presence of a serial child predator actively targeting minors by soliciting inappropriate images and videos. Tragically, one of the many victims identified in this case is from Borger. This adult individual is pretending to be a minor.
🚨 Per the reporting ESP, "The platform Discord has identified that the incident relates to the reported user repeatedly pressuring multiple child victims (between the ages of 12 and 15) into creating and sharing self-generated content. The reported user appears to search out child victims through Discord, Roblox, and other social
media platforms based on the observed conversations attached."
TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN!
MONITOR YOUR CHILDREN!
✔️ Have open conversations about the dangers of sharing personal information online.
✔️ Set boundaries on which platforms they use and how much time they spend online.
✔️ Know their friends—both online and offline.
✔️ Enable parental controls on devices and apps whenever possible.
✔️ Report suspicious activity to the NCMEC’s Cyber Tip line at
www.cybertipline.org. OR contact law enforcement immediately.
